BTEC Nationals are designed to provide specialist work-related qualifications in a range of sectors. Assessment is undertaken through a variety of coursework activities, e.g. presentations, written work, diary/logbook or through poster presentations.
The ‘Sports Development and Fitness’ route complements the range of activities aimed at improving the health of the nation. This includes the development of local authority sports and leisure strategies that require enhanced roles for sports development staff. This includes coaches and trainers as well as sports development officers. They provide the knowledge, understanding and skills for learners wishing to enter a career in sporting performance, coaching and training or outdoor education.
If you are a keen sportsperson and enjoy participating and being involved in sport in some other capacity, such as a referee, then the BTEC course will suit your needs. We are seeking individuals who are self-motivated, enjoy Physical Education and Sport and have the ability to complete coursework within the agreed deadlines. If that’s you, then sign up!
