Philosophy and Ethics

Is there a God? If God is good why is there evil in the world? Is there an after life? What can we base our moral or ethical decisions upon? This course will appeal to those students who, at some stage of their life, have given some thought to the questions above and who maybe have questioned the purpose of existence and the meaning of life.

The Philosophy of Religion and Ethics course considers a number of different issues. The main ones include:

You will be able to use arguments and deductive reasoning to reach conclusions about these questions and will be skilled in debate and discussion. An ability to be open minded and thoughtful is an asset in this subject A qualification in Philosophy and Ethics will provide you with a solid foundation for further study in Philosophy, Theology, Politics, English, Law, Business, Journalism, Sociology, Psychology and most other Arts and Social Science degree course as it provides the academic rigour to effectively evaluate any subject. Philosophy and Ethics is a good qualification for people who want careers in law, medicine, social work, nursing, teaching, politics, charity work and journalism.
