Modern Foreign Languages
Modern Foreign Languages
If you like the idea of living and working abroad and have a love of language then the study of French or German is highly recommended. The French and German A/AS level courses are very similar in their requirements. During each course you will be developing your skills in:
- Listening and writing
- Reading and writing
- Speaking
Topics covered during these areas of study include current affairs, society and the world of work. In the second year of the course your speaking assessment will ask you to either interpret a piece of work or discuss a current issue of your choice. A modern foreign language provides an excellent foundation for a wide range of degree courses including language with law, language with business or language with media. The course will develop your communication skills, which is a valuable attribute in any professional field.
